Hi! What are you up to today?

It’s the weekend which means I had a lovely day with my two kids. Now that they’re asleep I’ve got a couple more Christmas designs which I would like to bring to life.

The theme of this box is Season’s Sweetings. What are your favourite Christmas treats?

Ohh I’m originally from Germany so many of my childhood Christmas treats are very traditionally German. I can’t spend the festive season without chocolate covered gingerbread, which I get in a “carepaket” from my mum every year.

What are your hopes for Christmas this year?

Looking forward to spending some time with my little family. We don’t have any family living nearby so it’s going to be a Christmas in the new normal for us.

Will you be making Christmas presents for friends and family?

Yes for sure. Even though not all will be crocheted, I will be sewing a lot too.

What inspired your design for this box?

My little girl. She demanded a stripey Christmas make.

What is your favourite type of project to crochet?

Don’t think I’ve got a favourite but I like to swap between straight forward designs and designs were I actually need to keep track of what I’m doing.

Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?

That’s a difficult one. I’m proud of all my published designs, but when I really need to choose then both my Midcentury Blanket and my Hirst Blanket got the most love in my house.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?

When something you had in your mind doesn’t work out. I designed a granny square blanket last year and when I was about to join all the squares I really didn’t like the look of it. It was rather painful to frog it all (it was single sized!) but I’m much happier with the updated version.

What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?

Let your creative juices flow and just start to experiment.

Where’s your favourite place to crochet?

My couch.

Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?

I’m in the process of launching a pattern store on my blog. And got about 30 patterns that are waiting to be finally written up. Many of which are clothing items for children both girls and boys 🙂
