What is your favourite type of project to crochet?
Quick projects that look far more difficult than they actually are! My goal is to incorporate stitches and textures that look complex into projects that are interesting to work up, and functional.
Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?
I recently published a skill-building book of crochet tops for women, and I am extremely proud of how it has turned out! After years of researching fit, style, and fabric, I learned enough to share with others so that they can also build their skills and create designs they’ll love to wear. So, I created an entire book. I hope that my skill-building journey will help others who are looking to create the perfect top, too. Build Your Skills: Crochet Tops will be published in November 2020 everywhere books are sold!
Tell us something unexpected about yourself!
I’ve lived all over the world! Hawaii, Georgia, Okinawa, England, New Mexico, and now Oregon. My favorite place to live was England, and I chose to relocate to Oregon because the community here reminds me a bit of Europe. We even picnic here when the weather is warm!
Do you have any big crochet plans coming up this year?
Yes! After more than ten years of writing patterns, over 300 patterns and 5 books published, I’ve developed a course to help others write crochet patterns. The course is available at the American Crochet Association, and I hope it becomes a new standard in how crochet is learned, taught, and written.
Where can people find out more about you?
I have a wonderful community on Facebook that everyone is welcome to join, and all my pattern work is available on Ravelry!
