We might not all be able to go very far right now, but we can still dream about holidays! What’s your dream vacation destination?
I love Hawaii! Having my feet in the sand and watching the waves roll in is so therapeutic. Plus, the perfect weather and being surrounded by beautiful flowers and sea creatures is pretty great too.
What is your favourite type of project to crochet?
Designing and crocheting kawaii amigurumi is definitely a favourite of mine. Not only are they a pretty quick make, but they are also a lot of fun to give as gifts. I also love to crochet things for my home like dishcloths, blankets, and pillows.
Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?
I was fortunate enough to have a book, Kawaii Crochet, published in December of last year. It was definitely a “pinch me” moment!
Tell us something unexpected about yourself!
I love writing to-do-lists and organizing my work space. In fact, if I’m in a messy room I feel like I can’t think straight. It can be a blessing and a curse!
What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?
Handmade is all about love; so crochet what you love! If you are working on a project, and you are not enjoying it, then don’t be afraid to set it aside indefinitely.
Where’s your favourite place to crochet?
It all depends on what time of year it is. I really enjoy crocheting outside in my garden when the weather is nice; or if it’s chilly then my favourite spot is by the fireplace and watching a good show.
Do you have any big crochet plans coming up this year?
For the past couple of years I have shared a “pattern of the month” crochet pattern that is based on a theme. This year’s theme is fruit and they of course have cute faces!
