Hi! What are you up to today?
Hello! Thank you so much for having me here! Today, it’s been a busy day of writing patterns
and working on new designs.
What is your favourite type of project to crochet?
My favourite types of project to work on are definitely sweaters and blankets. I just love being
able to make my own clothes and as the weather is cold in Ireland, wooly handmade
sweaters are the best! And for summer I really enjoy making cotton tops that are easy and
fresh to wear.
Where’s your favourite place to crochet?
My favourite place to crochet has to be the sofa, with a cup of coffee or tea, watching one of
my favourite TV series. But I love taking my crochet project to the beach during the summer 🙂
Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?
The crochet project I am proudest of is the Star Blanket I designed for Crochet now magazine
two years ago. It’s so colourful and warm and I loved making it. Now it really brightens up my
day when it’s cold and grey and above all it keeps me nice and warm.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?
One of the biggest challenges I faced with crochet was learning to work with different colours
and integrate them in one project. After a lot of trial and error, I learned that working on a
small sample using the different colour combinations really helps. Another challenge is time! I
always have too many ideas and so little time.
What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of crochet advice I’ve ever received was to do a sample before starting any
big project. It’s very important not only to achieve the right tension when following a pattern
but also I think it is great to see how different yarns work with different stitch patterns and
hook sizes.
Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?
After a long time, I finally took the plunge and I started my own crochet blog! 2022 was the
year for it! I’m very excited to share new designs, techniques, yarn reviews and so much
more 🙂
