What are you up to today?

I’m coherence checking my newest pattern and updating my etsy shop with a newbie pattern – but much more importantly, I will be decorating my house for Christmas this evening!!

What inspired your design for this box?

2020 has been a year of working from home, and I’ve spent a lot of time in my home office collecting cosy additions and decorating for a pretty and inspiring workspace. I was thinking about designs full of positivity and motivation.

This month is all about our crafty spaces – are you a tidy or a messy crafter?

I’m ‘hopefully’ a tidy crafter, with occasional spots of messiness.

What is your favourite type of project to crochet?

I just love working on all the mandala style patterns out there with colour changing yarns.

Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?

My mosaic crochet mermaid scale blanket, it was simple enough to work up without too much heavy thinking and the colour change yarn was so addictive – just one more row to see the next colour change come through…

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?

Understanding the number of stitches to increase in a round to keep work lying flat with different stitch sizes, yarn thicknesses and hook sizes…I’m still using trial and error! 🙂

What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?

Size up on hooks – when I first started crocheting, I used 3.5mm hook for everything. It was when I started matching my hook to the yarn weight I was using that my projects started to look so much better.

Where’s your favourite place to crochet?

On the sofa next to my lovely husband…

The nights are getting long here in the UK now – what do you do to bring a little light and happiness?

I snuggle up with chocolates and go online-yarn shopping!

Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?

I’m planning my first CAL (eek!) towards the end of January/early February – it’s a mosaic star that I’m super proud of.

Where can people find out more about you?
