Hi! What are you up to today?
I am knitting a doll today. I love knitting as much as crocheting.
What is your favourite type of project to crochet?
Amigurumi! I love making little dolls and creatures.
Where’s your favourite place to crochet?
In my dining room. It became my full-time workplace now.
Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?
Snoopy, Woodstock, and Charlie Brown that I did for Crochet Now magazine.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?
I don’t do large projects or projects too complicated so my challenge cannot be too big,
however, the series of birds that I made was a little difficult. I needed to make them in
attractive shapes and colour patterns. I find incorporating many colours in crochet is not
easy.
What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?
I taught myself to crochet with books and videos, so, unfortunately, I haven’t received
any advice so far.
The theme of this box is Island Escape. What is your dream Island escape?
There is a beautiful island called Okinawa in Japan. I grew up in Japan, but I have never
visited it. There is a beach where you can find star-shaped sand. I got a small bottle of
the sand from my friend who visited Okinawa a few years ago. How amazing it looks! I
would love to see the beach myself.
Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?
I am working on my second crochet book with Search Press. It is a collection of little
amigurumi dolls. It is coming along nicely, and I cannot wait to see it published.
