Hi! What are you up to today?
I want to say, designing new patterns but that wouldn’t be the truth. I am relaxing,
taking a break and enjoying the beautiful weather we are having here in Mumbai. I am
making yarny things for my family and looking forward to a vacation.
What inspired your design for this box?
The theme for the box! An escape! It had me reminiscing about a time looking out into
the blue oceans and enjoying a book. Not a care in the world.
What is your favourite type of project to crochet?
My favourite thing to crochet is a huge shawl with lots of colours. Especially the kind
that is simple yet has something that changes every few rows like the one that I
designed for the box. This keeps me interested and relaxed at the same time.
Where’s your favourite place to crochet?
At home, on a cosy chair looking out my window. Having a crochet podcaster on in the
background is an added bonus.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?
Translating a design in my head into a crochet pattern. What I am thinking of is
sometimes so lofty that I have reign myself in and remind myself to take it one step at a
time. But when a project turns out better than what I imagined, there is nothing that
matches that joy. So, I welcome the challenges. Also, pretty yarn helps.
What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?
A stitch marker is your best friend. Be it going in a round or in a row, a progress keeper
will keep your stitch count in check. Also, its an excuse to add some pretty accessories
to your collection.
The theme of this box is Island Escape. What is your dream Island escape?
I love the Greek islands. Santorini, Mykonos, all of them. The blue oceans and the little
islands are etched in my memory. I love the sun and a beach escape is my favourite
kind of vacation
Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?
Yes, last year a good part was spent upgrading my website and making it user friendly.
This year I want to focus on upping to my YouTube channel. Adding small crochet
patterns, tutorials and maybe some tips and tricks. Of course, designing is always in the
mix of things.
