Crochet Society Designer Box 39 – Kelly Wilson Moore

Hi! What are you up to today?
Hiya, today I have been enjoying some time with my family at the local park and
doing a bit of baking. Oh and of course some crochet!

What is your favourite type of project to crochet?
Christmas stuff definitely. It is a great excuse to fill your house with lots of
handmade decorations and of course, I can use as much gold and silver lame as I
like.

Where’s your favourite place to crochet?
In the garden, with a cup of tea, cake and some good music. If it is cold, I wrap up
in a crochet blanket.

Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?
My first big design which was a car blanket for my baby. It turned out exactly as I
wanted, which doesn’t always happen! Plus it is not easy designing with baby
brain! I always get lovely comments and feedback on it, which gives me such a
boost.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?
Pattern writing, and worrying that it makes sense to people other than me. I was
nervous about publishing for a long time and was proud of myself when I finally
went for it. I’ve had no problems so far!

What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?
Remember to make stuff for yourself. We can get overwhelmed with making for
other people or to sell and get stressed to meet a deadline. Sometimes it is nice
just to take some time and make a little treat for yourself.

Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?
I have lots of commissions and patterns on the pipeline, but I will also take my
advice and enjoy some crochet just for me too!

Where can people find out more about you?
