Crochet Society Box 28 – Kerry Taylor @hookerry

Hi! What are you up to today?

I am just finishing off making a crochet caravan then I am off to search for my next big project as I have nothing else on my hook!

What is your favourite type of project to crochet?

I love making blankets and shawls.  The more detail in the pattern, the better.

Where’s your favourite place to crochet?

I absolutely love crocheting in my garden here in Cornwall, especially when the sun is shining and the bird are singing.  I find it so peaceful.

Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?

I made my five-year-old boy a huge Minecraft blanket using charts to go on his bed.  There were so many colour changes and ends to sew in but the look on his face when I gifted it to him made it all completely worthwhile.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?

Being my own biggest critic and perfectionist.  I love to please people so I want to design patterns that people will enjoy making and have fun with.  Sometimes that is not always as easy as it seems.

What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?

Ironically to stop being so critical of myself and to not give up my dream of designing and having my patterns published.  If I can do it, so can anyone!

The theme of this month’s box is Peaceful. Where do you feel most at peace when crocheting?

Exactly the same answer as above, my favourite place to crochet is in my garden, this is where I feel most at peace.

Do you have any big crochet plans coming up?

Not really at the moment but I would like to continue designing and publishing patterns.  I am thinking of a blanket pattern as my next design.

Where can people find out more about you?

My website hookerry.com and on my IG account @hookerry_crochet
