Using crochet thread, this necklace is constructed by joining granny-style hexagons together in a nod to pieced patchwork, using modern colours the hexagon piece is then attached to a necklace chain using jump rings.

Start crocheting
Hexagon Motif
(Make 3 in A and B, 2 in C)
Chain 6. Join to work in the rnd.
Rnd 1: 3 ch (counts as tr), working into the ring, 2 tr. 2 ch [3 tr, 2 ch] 5 times, join twith sl st in beg 3 ch. Turn. 18 sts
Rnd 2: 3 ch (counts as tr), [2 tr, 2ch, 3tr] in 2-ch sp, 1 ch, {[3 tr, 2 ch, 3 tr] in 2-ch sp, 1 ch} 5 times, join to top of starting ch with sl st, turn. 36 sts
Fasten off leaving a long end.
Making up
Join hexagons together, using whip stitch and the ends left from fastening off.
Weave in ends.
Attach necklace clasp to ends of the two pieces of chain, using jumprings.
Attach outer edges of the hexagons, to each end of chain, using jumprings.
Hints and tips –
Leave a long end when fastening off your hexagon so that you can use this to join your hexagons together at the end.
