When did you learn to crochet, and why do you love it so much?

I learnt to crochet as a child, taught by my mum and my nan. I find it both calming and fun. I love the thought of it being a craft that has been passed down the generations, though I’m still waiting for my daughter to want to learn!

What is your favourite thing to make?

At the moment it’s amigurumi – and I have a thing for novelty cushions.

How do you like to relax?

I find walking the dog helps clear my mind and helps me to think. I love to relax in the bath with a good book. And, of course, I crochet to relax too but not in the bath!

What is your top tip for new crocheters?

Take your time, and if you make mistakes don’t worry! We all make them, just remember it’s great that you’re learning a new skill. Oh, and don’t forget to count! Stitch markers can help with that.

Any big crochet plans for next year?

Nothing I can say yet, just lot’s more of it!

Where can people find out more about you?

You can find me on Instagram @flo_and_dot and on my blog at floanddot.blogspot.com

Tell us something unexpected about you!

I’m quite shy, but on a night out you can’t get me off the dance floor. I have also never driven a car on a motorway or parked one in a multi storey car park!
