What inspired your design for this Crochet Society box?

For this design I was inspired by summer evenings outside with friends and family; the kind of nights you wish would never end!

The theme of this box is ‘Crocheting at the Beach’ – what unexpected places do you like to crochet? What are your top tips/must-haves for crocheting on the go?

Before I could drive, I would always crochet on the bus to and from work! My must haves for crocheting on the go are scissors, a tapestry needle, and a few stitch markers. I also take a little notepad and pen with me so I can jot down or sketch any ideas that come to mind while I’m out and about!

The yarn in this box is a Crochet Society exclusive – it isn’t even in the shops yet! How did you find it (colour and texture)?

I really loved working with this yarn, it’s super soft and the colours in it are just beautiful! I love that any project you make with it will always come out slightly different.

What is your favourite thing to design/make? Which of your designs are you most proud of?

I’m currently a bit obsessed with making garments so I would love to design a garment in the future but at the moment I love designing accessories and blankets. The design I’m probably most proud of is the “Bigger the Bow Scrunchie”, it’s been really successful and always gets a lot of love which has been so lovely! It was one of those designs that I hadn’t sketched out or planned really but sometimes they turn out to be the best ones!

Any big crochet plans coming up?

I have just been featured in Crochet Now magazine with one of my designs which has been really exciting and built my confidence up so I’m hoping to work on more commissions in the future and release a few more patterns by the end of this year!

Tell us something unexpected about you!

When I was younger, I used to play the drums and could read sheet music!
