Edging Front
Join CC to side of any st in first or last row end, 1 ch, working across row ends, place 1 dc in each dc of first and last rows, 1 dc in side of each MC dc, 2 dc in side of each tr, <1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc> in each 90 degree corner, 1 dc in each 135 degree corner (around the Flap), join with sl st to beg dc. Fasten off. (Note: No dc are made in sides of CC dc).
Back Work as for Front Edging omitting Flap instructions.
Making up Weave in ends and block Front and Back (if needed) before joining. Place Front and Back with WS tog, lining up rows 1-34 of each side. With Front piece facing you, join CC with sl st to the corresponding edging sts at the end of Row 34.
Rnd 1: Working through both thicknesses, 1 ch (does not count as st), 1 dc in each st down first edge, 1 dc into 1ch-sp, 1 dc in each st across bottom, 1 dc into 1ch-sp, 1 dc in each st up next edge to Row 34, working across Front only, continue around Flap working 1 dc in each st, join with sl st to beg dc. Fasten off.
Finishing (Optional) Sew a button onto the Back of the case. Join CC to central dc on edge of Flap, 7 ch (or an appropriate number of chs for the size of your button), sl st in same central dc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
