Beatriz Pop Shawl: Start crocheting

This asymmetric shawl is worked from one corner to the opposite edge, and increases by one st on each row. We recommend blocking before weaving in your ends to avoid ends ‘popping’ out of the work. Unless otherwise stated turning chains do not count as a stitch.

Shawl With MC, chain 4.

Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 3 htr. Turn. 3 sts

Row 2: 2 ch, 2 htr, 2 htr in last st. Turn. 4 sts

Row 3: 2 ch, <2 htr in next st> twice, 1 htr2tog. Turn. 5 sts 

Row 4: 2 ch, htr across to last st, 2 htr in last st. 6 sts

Row 5: 2 ch, <2 htr in next st> twice, htr across to last 2 sts, 1 htr2tog. Turn. 7 sts

Rows 6-31: Rep rows 4-5 thirteen times. Fasten off. 33 sts

Row 32: Join CC1, 1 ch, dc across to last st, 2 dc in last st. Turn. 34 sts

Row 33: 3 ch, 2 tr in first st, 1 ch, miss next st, 2 tr in next st, *1 ch, miss next st, 1 tr; rep from * to last 2 sts, 1 tr2tog. Turn. 35 sts

Row 34: 3 ch, tr in each st and 1ch-sp across to last st, 2 tr in last st. Turn. Fasten off. 36 sts

Row 35: Join MC, rep Row 5. 37 sts

Rows 36-38: Rep rows 4-5, then Row 4 once more. 40 sts

Row 39: Join CC2, 1 ch, 2 dc in first st, dc to end. Turn. 41 sts

Row 40: 1 ch, 1 dc2tog, dc across to last 2 sts, <2 dc in next st> twice. Turn. Fasten off. 42 sts

Edging

Row 1: Join MC, 2 ch, htr across, 3 htr in corner, rotate to work across straight edge of shawl, htr evenly across row ends to beg point (Row 1 of Shawl). Turn.

Row 2: 1 ch, dc across to corner, 2 ch, rotate, dc across top of shawl, 2 ch, rotate to work across increase edge of shawl, dc evenly across row ends to beg point. Fasten off.

Finishing

Block and weave in ends.
