Day 2 – Hexagons

Special abbreviations Standing dc: With slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, complete dc as usual.

Invisible join: Cut yarn, thread tapestry needle and insert needle from front to back through both loops indicated st, insert needle from front to back through back loop only of last st of rnd (where yarn was cut), pull gently to match the tension of underlying sts. Weave in end securely.

Hexagons are worked in the rnd, with RS facing you throughout.

Continuing from a snowflake made yesterday:

Rnd 4: Join new colour (C2) with a standing dc in any RhtrF, *3 ch, miss 2 dc, working behind chs made in Rnd 3, 1 dc between the 2 dc either side of the 9ch-sp, 3 ch, miss 2 dc**, 1 dc in next RhtrF; rep from * 5 times more ending last rep at **, join with sl st to beg dc. 12 sts

Rnd 5: 2 ch (does not count as a st), *3 tr into 3ch-sp, <1 dtr, 2 ch, 1 dtr> in next st, 3 tr into 3ch-sp, miss 1 st; rep from * 5 times more, join with sl st to beg tr. 48 sts

Rnd 6: 3 ch (counts as 1 tr), 3 tr, *<1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr> in 5th ch of Rnd 3 9ch-sp, miss corner 2ch-sp, 8 tr; rep from * 5 times more, omitting last 4 tr on final rep, join to tr after beg 3 ch with an invisible join. 60 sts

Hexagon measures 12cm side to side.

Rep for 3 more snowflakes.
