Special stitches
Camel stitch: Yrh, insert hook into horizontal bar, yrh, pul, yrh, draw through all 3 loops on hook. The horizontal bar is the loop underneath the top two loops (commonly referred to as the front loop and back loop)
Foundation half treble (fhtr): Chain 2, starting in 2nd ch from hook, *yrh, insert hook into chain, yrh, pul, yrh, draw through one loop (chain made), yrh, draw through all 3 loops on hook (htr made); rep from * for number of sts needed
Top Tip!
To ensure the bobble is attached securely, leave a long tail and sew it to the hat by running the darning needle through the middle of the bobble each time
Using a foundation row creates more stretch and keeps the tension along your top and bottom rows more even.
