Crochet Society Box 32 – Marjan Gouda

Hi! What are you up to today?

Hi there! It’s Monday today, the start of a brand new week…. Today I will be working on a new crochet pattern for a scarf and take some photos of a design.

What is your favourite type of project to crochet?

My favourite type of projects are accessories and home decorations. I love making and designing patterns for wall hangings, cushions, blankets, hats and scarves.

Where’s your favourite place to Crochet?

Surrounded by yarn, plenty of new ideas and some music or a good series.

Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?

I’m really proud of most of my designs. One of my designs that I’m most proud of is the Year of Squares Blanket. For the blanket I designed twelve different crocheted squares, one square each month. I love how all the different crochet stitches came together in the blanket.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?

A big challenge that I faced recently was a project that took me forever to make. When a project takes forever to make you kind of loose interest, but you know you have to pull through and finish the project because the end result is so worth it! This particular project was definitely worth every minute!

What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?

One advice that I would like to give is that if you are not happy with how a project turned out, to frog the project and make something else.

The theme of this months box is Coffe Break, what is your favourite way to spend your coffee break?

Of course it has to be working on a crochet project or planning new designs.

Do you have any big plans coming up?

Behind the scenes I have been working on some awesome new crochet and knitting patterns for home decorations and accessories. Can’t wait to show you these new designs!
