Crochet Society Box 32 – Alison Holloway

Hi! What are you up to today?

Busy with my other love baking. Today it’s apple and cinnamon cake with the help of my beautiful daughter. We will of course be sampling it later!

What inspired your design for this box?

That wonderful feeling of snuggling up on a cold day with a giant mug of coffee!

What is your favourite type of project to crochet?

Oh this is hard as I am quite an ecclectic crocheter. I think at the moment it would have to be Tunisian crochet. I love the mindful nature of the stitches and you can get some great texture with it.

Where’s your favourite place to Crochet?

I have a specific spot on our sofa with all my tools in reach and usually a hot cup of tea to hand as well.

Which of your crochet projects are you proudest of?

My guinea pig amigurumi pattern. They are simple, but so effective and cute, especially their little toes. They are my best seller.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced with your crochet?

Numbers! Sometimes my brain just can’t work them out and I have to take a break and come back to them.

What’s the best piece of crochet advice you’ve ever received?

Use stitch markers. Losing count, especially when you are new to crochet and can’t count your stitches well can be really frustrating.

The theme of this months box is Coffe Break, what is your favourite way to spend your coffee break?

Curled up on the sofa, fluffy socks, a cat or two, a fabulous cappuccino and a slice of cake.

Do you have any big plans coming up?

I have some big plans to revamp my etsy pattern store around a specific theme, It’s top-secret though, so no clues!
