Welcome to the Crochet Society Advent CAL for 2023
Thank you for being a part of the 2023 Crochet Society Advent Calendar.
Inside Box 1 you will find a password which you can use to access all of the PDF patterns which will be released each day.

The blog posts will be scheduled to go live at 7am each day (GMT). You will need to enter the password to access them. Please note that the password is CASE SENSITIVE.
Decisions, decisions! For 2023 Choose between a Blanket CAL and a Toy CAL!
Our calendar contains enough yarn to complete either the full blanket or the 5 toys (not both!). Of course, you could choose to do both and use your own stash for either the blanket or the toys. Let us know in our New Private Crochet Society Facebook Group which you will be doing!
Below you will find two introductions from our designers Alice Tarry and Pia Simpson.
Not sure which to choose?
If you are a beginner or a little rusty we would recommend that you go with the Blanket CAL as we have daily video tutorials which show you each step. For both CALs you will get a daily PDF with the next section of the pattern.
We will be able to chat freely about the patterns in our private CAL Facebook group so if you do have any problems making them up there will always be someone available to give you some advice.
The Santa’s Workshop Blanket CAL
This pattern has been inspired by everything we love about the festive season, from beloved Christmas characters to our favourite treats. This blanket is made up of five sections, each with its own theme. You will make two plain squares each day from each colour (10 plain squares per group), as well as the components for the appliqués. At the end of the five days, you will also make 10 patterned squares, chosen to match the theme, resulting in 20 squares for each colour group. You can then assemble all your appliqués and sew them onto the plain squares.

The Christmas Crochet Toys CAL
For those of you who fancy a change from our annual blanket, Pia has created the cutest collection of crochet critters you’ve ever seen!
Welcome to the Yultide Yarnies collection!
This group of Christmas amigurumi patterns is absolutely jam-packed with character and the cutest little details. Each one has its own unique personality and we just know you’re going to love making them. There are five toys in the collection, with a new one starting on days 1, 6, 11, 16 and 21. Some of the patterns use small amounts of yarn from earlier days for the details, so make sure you don’t throw away any unused yarn!
