Succulent Pot Cosy Free Pattern

Make plant pots bright and colourful with these mini cosies - easy to make in less than half an hour!

Designer - Hugh Metcalf

Yarn used DK weight

Hook used 4mm

Sizing To fit xxcm pot (adjustable)

Note: Debbie Bliss Cotton Prints DK crochets to a different tension, so while htr was used for this rnd for this yarn, the other two yarns used tr sts to fit the width of the pot.

Start crocheting

Chain 4, sl st in first ch to join into the rnd.

Rnd 1: 2 ch (counts as 1 htr here and throughout), 8 htr into ring, join with sl st in beg 2 ch. 9 sts

Rnd 2: 2 ch, 1 htr in same st, 2 htr in each st around, join with sl st in beg 2 ch. 18 sts

Rnd 3: Working into BLO, 2 ch, htr around, join with sl st in beg 2 ch.

Rnd 4: 2 ch, htr around, join with sl st in beg 2 ch.

Rnd 5: 2 ch, 1 htr in same st, 1 htr, <2 htr in next st, 1 htr> around, join with sl st in beg 2 ch. 27 sts

Rnds 6-9: 2 ch, htr around, join with sl st in beg 2 ch.

Rnd 10: 2 ch, 1 htr in same st, 13 htr, 2 htr in next st, 12 htr, join with sl st in beg 2 ch. Weave in ends

Adjust for different sizes To increase the size of the base of your pot cosy, add 1 htr st in between each increase on every rnd. Work the first rnd of the side in the BLO and work theg first 2 rnds without increases. After that, increase every 4 rows as set on the base, increasing only 2 sts in the final rnd to ensure it hugs the top of the pot tightly.
